Earlier in the summer, I embarked on the most extraordinary adventure, undertaking a science and art residency with The Arctic Circle. Join me as I make sense of what came back with me from the Arctic.I will be unpacking my duffle bag day by day, musing, looking deeply, reflecting and wondering what new work will come as a result of it all.
I’m currently working on a piece titled A Lynching in Exuma, a story rooted in my family history and anchored by Bahamian traditions, culture, and memory. My hope is to have this piece completed by the end of my residency doing my part to bring Bahamian literature and storytelling to the forefront." Read more

Writing with sound with Anna Johnson.
Engaging the senses is often key to drawing the reader into our writing, but sound is sometimes overlooked. This month’s writing workshop will explore how writing with and about sound can engage the reader and enrich our writing practice. Through readings and short writing exercises we will explore how we might bring sound into our work. We will look at a variety of texts, including poems by d/Deaf, British Jamaican poet Raymond Antrobus.
Suitable for all writing levels, from absolute beginner to experienced.
