In this workshop we'll explore writing created through engaging with works of art (from painting to literature), known as ekphrastic writing. This practice moves beyond the descriptive to create its own world in response to an artwork. Together, we will look at examples of ekphrastic literature, including poetry by WH Auden. We will work through short writing exercises (drawing on RuptureXIBIT's wonderful collection of art books!) to explore how this technique can help us develop our own writing voice. Book now
