Annette Kaye

Intensive Mentoring Residency - April 2026

Meet Annette
I am a collector - of people  and their stories (I am a therapist and spiritual director), experiences (cycling London to Paris, giving a piano concert, retreat, workshops, lots of travel), and every description of art material! I have lived my life among different cultures - South African, New Zealand,Australia,  the south and north of the UK - and within different fields of interest - spirituality, psychology, ecology, creativity - and find myself belonging everywhere but nowhere, curious across a multitude of fields, specialist in none. Twenty five years ago I began attending a pottery class, and fell in love. Clay has been a kind of home ever since. However, it’s only ever been a serious hobby, and is accompanied by a lack of confidence in my true ability, despite a longing to make bold, brave creations. More recently, I have diverted into other materials - paint, paper, textiles - and again find myself unsure of where I am most at home. Now living in the north east of England, I find myself wanting to integrate all these different parts of me, and to create art that reflects that.

About the Residency

I have chosen as my starting point the theme of ‘Fruiting Bodies’  with its implications of mycelial, fungal and womanly worlds.
