RuptureXIBIT (+Studio) is an artist-run space in London, a 30-minute train ride from Waterloo, 20 minutes from Clapham Junction, and steps away from the station in Hampton Wick. We exist to encourage the development of artistic practice in all disciplines, focusing on showing rather than selling. While artists are welcome to sell their work, our purpose is to highlight the potential for growth that comes from conversations that arise during a show.

  • Suitable for solo and group shows

  • Highly competitive rates

  • Museum lighting

  • Promotion of your show across numerous platforms

  • Support from an experienced in-house team

We offer a 350 sq. ft. High Street shop-front gallery. Additional 800 sq. ft. and 360 off-street sq. ft. exhibition and studio spaces available.

RuptureXIBIT is shared as a flexible exhibition space to give artists an affordable place to expand and define their practice by showing their experimental and resolved work and talking about it across disciplines and communities devoid of hierarchy. Experimental means experimental to you: how you ask more of your practice. We accept proposals based on the artist’s desire to develop through showing.

RuptureXIBIT is interested in the new, and believes the new comes from an engagement with a willingness to stretch, push, and fail. We are a lab, a workout space, a place to try things you are unsure of. We are your trampoline.

To apply for an exhibition we require the following:

  • A written proposal for your show (up to 500 words). This describes your concept for the show

  • Up to ten images of work. This is a portfolio of current work, which should represent what you intend to show

  • A statement (up to 500 words) about why or how your practice will benefit from showing at the RuptureXIBIT Gallery. This is where you can talk about how you hope to push yourself and your practice by showing in the space, and talk about experimental ideas

  • We ask that you include the following with the proposal, should we accept your show:

  • An artist bio (max 250 words)

  • A brief description of your show for social media (150 - 200 words)

  • A brief description of your show for our website (up to 250 words)

  • A typical show includes:

-A one week exhibition in the front gallery, the front gallery plus garden, or the front gallery, garden, and rear gallery

-Advertising of your show on our Social Media

-Advertisement of your show on prominent art sites including Art Rabbit and others

-Use of our ARTSVP booking system

-Oversight of your installation by our Project Manager

    -Coverage in our newsletter

-An opportunity to talk about your work to a wide and diverse audience of art lovers

-You can hold events in the space during the show. People hold talks, lectures, podcasts, catalogue launches, crits, drawing days, and workshops

-The emphasis is on the development of your practice and professional skills. We are not a traditional gallery

-All sales during or resulting from the show should be processed by the artist. However, RuptureXIBIT will take a 20% commission on every sale, in order to help us meet our goal of 50% of our operating costs covered.

-An initial artist mentoring session can be available during your show. Please see our mentoring page for more details.
